Structure

One of Scandinavia’s oldest and most seasoned boat builders is Malo Yachts. For seasoned sailors, the yard most likely doesn’t need any further introduction. The Malo 39 is a high-quality yacht designed for discerning sailors that is constructed like a real offshore sailing yacht. It is perfect for serious, extended cruising and extended stays at sea. The cockpit is spacious, well-lit, and secure. The targa-arch serves a number of functions for the mainsheet traveler and prevents lines from getting in the crew members’ heads. The arch also makes a perfect support for handles, the canopy over the cockpit and dodger, and light fixtures.

A type like the Malo 39 is ideal for 2-4 individuals who enjoy sailing and spend a lot of time on board.

The hull form provides excellent comfort when at sea. Malo’s craftsmanship is simply outstanding. Premium mahogany is used to construct the interior.

In 2002, the bluewater sailboat Malo 39 ZARZURA was delivered. It has been sailed and enjoyed by its present (original) owners in Scandinavian seas, primarily in the summer. The fact that it has always been kept indoors throughout the winter and that Broderna Martinsson in Svineviken has provided maintenance is one of the factors contributing to the yacht’s generally good condition for its age.

Above Deck

Fiberglass makes up the hull. Typically, during the sailing season, a fibreglass hull needs very little maintenance. The interior climate is enhanced by the double hull. The double hull protects against cold water and lessens condensation in the cabin, especially when the water is cooler than the air inside.

Even after ten years of sailing, the teak deck still looks gorgeous, and the layout is well-planned. Cleats, stanchions, and other fittings are all fastened to the hull and deck with bolts via metal plates.

Below Deck

The interior of the sailboat is equally stunning as the exterior. Located amidships is the sizable saloon. Here, you can see numerous examples of the superb craftsmanship that went into building this vessel and the welcoming maritime ambiance of the Malo. There is a functional galley to port. The chart table and head with a roomy shower and toilet are to starboard. There is a double cabin with a private shower in the forepeak. This fine yacht, the Malo 39, is ideal for anyone looking for a well-sailing, well-maintained, and opulently furnished vessel.

The mahogany inside is similar to that of many other boats. The boat has three cabins, seven sleepers, a galley, a bathroom, and a 50-liter waste water capacity. The vessel is rigged with a masthead. The benefits of a masthead rig are its simplicity and the ability to carry a given sail area lower and with less heeling moment when compared to a fractional rig.

This magnificent yacht Malo 39 is an absolute must-see for anyone looking for a good sailing, well-maintained, and luxuriously outfitted yacht.

Ahead owner’s quarters, a separate shower quarters, a salon with two sofas, a guest quarters, a galley, a navigation table, and heads with showers are all included in the plan. The quantity of storage is astounding when compared to a lot of other yachts of similar size.

Performance

A small crew or a couple can sail in comfort and efficiency on the Bluewater Sailboat Malo 39 because to its design and construction. A small crew can easily operate the sails in any weather thanks to the furling mainsail and two headsails.

Due to its shallow draught, which ranges from 1.80 to 1.90 metres (5.91 to 6.21 feet) depending on the load, the boat can only enter big marinas.

Malö 39’s capsize screening value is 1.84, meaning that if this methodology were used to examine only this boat, it might be permitted to compete in ocean races. A displacement boat of this length is capable of travelling at a maximum speed of 7.5 knots. Malö 39’s immersion rate is roughly 243 kg/cm, or 1361 lbs/inch. Meaning that a boat will sink 1 cm if it is loaded with 243 kg of cargo. As an alternative, the boat will sink 1 inch if you load it with 1361 lbs of cargo.

An inboard Yanmar diesel engine with 60.0 horsepower (44 kW), which provides a top speed of roughly 7.4 knots, is typically installed in the Malö 39 engine.  The fuel tank can hold 275 litres (72 US gallons) of fuel. The 54 hp Yanmar engine and the 95 kg bow thruster provide you the power you need in any circumstance. An autopilot, radar, plotter, four sailing instruments, VHF, Navtex, and an interface for connecting to a computer are all included in the navigation system. She loves going out onto the water so much. This yacht is an absolute joy to sail on a passage.

The sailboats operate quite similarly to the Nauticat, with the possible exception of very light breezes, where they have a minor speed advantage due to their fully battened main. The boats are nearly identical in terms of important data. The Malo’s saloon is lovely and cozier than the Nauticat’s.

Quick Notes

Malo seem to be quite robust, well-built, and capable. She definitely presents a good example. She feels very substantial, sturdy, and well-finished in comparison to the AWB (2011 Bav 36). Reversing does get a little scarier as you move from no skeg to skeg, but the thruster is still useful.

Malo 39 is a well-maintained, sturdy, seaworthy cruising yacht that you should not pass up.
