  • Description: A USA boatbuilder of California, that opened in 1964, was a builder of fiberglass dinghies and daysailers. They also had a factory in Gloucester, VA (USA). The Company was purchased firstly, by Browning Arms, then by Elgin International and then again In 1976 Lockley Manufacturing when they became Lockley Newport Boats. By 1981 the yard renamed itselft Gloucester Yachts and went out of business by 1988. Some time later, former employee Harry Sindle, who had also designed a number of the boats, became associated with Cardinal Yachts, and continued to build the Buccaneer among others for a limited number of years.
